Short Film Festival 2025 Hidden Truths

An inspiring journey: from ideas to red carpet moments

The Short Film Festival: Hidden Truths was a remarkable project developed by the

7th-grade students as part of their Language Arts program. This creative journey allowed

students to merge their linguistic, artistic, and collaborative skills while exploring deep and

thought-provoking ideas connected to the essential questions of Unit 3 from the IntoLiterature

program: What hidden truths about people and the world are revealed in stories?

The process began with a brainstorming stage, where students shared and refined their

ideas, seeking hidden truths within daily life and human experiences. They learned to

express their opinions, support their views, and listen to others’ perspectives — essential

skills for both filmmaking and language learning.

Next came the connection with the essential questions, where students analyzed how their stories could reflect meaningful answers to real-world issues. This stage encouraged critical thinking and creativity, leading them to design narratives that not only entertained but also conveyed powerful messages.

During the script writing, designing, and revision stage, students transformed their ideas into written scripts. They practiced drafting, editing, and collaborating with peers, using academic vocabulary and storytelling techniques to give life to their short films. Teachers guided them through the writing process, ensuring that every production had a clear structure, a strong message, and creative visual

elements.

The film-making process and feedback stage was where imagination met reality.

Students became directors, actors, and editors, learning the importance of teamwork,

problem-solving, and perseverance. After recording, they shared their drafts and received

constructive feedback from classmates and teachers, refining their final versions for the

big night.

Finally, on October 30th, 2025, the much-anticipated Short Film Festival took place. It

was a complete success — a night filled with enthusiasm, talent, and pride. Parents,

students, and Language Arts teachers gathered to celebrate the outstanding productions

presented on screen. The atmosphere was festive and inspiring, as everyone recognized the dedication and creativity behind each short film. What made the event even more

special was that English was spoken throughout the entire evening, creating an

authentic and meaningful environment where students experienced the language beyond

the classroom. It was not only a celebration of films but also a celebration of learning,

communication, and community.

The Short Film Festival: Hidden Truths stands as a memorable experience that

demonstrated how language, art, and teamwork can come together to reveal the hidden

truths within each student’s imagination.
